Nel tentativo costante di ottenere la massima risoluzione di immagine nella classe 70-300mm, l'obiettivo dell'anniversario Tamron - l'SP AF70-300mm F4-5,6 Di VC USD (Modello A005) - utilizza un avanzato design ottico che prevede un elemento in vetro LD (Low Dispersion) e uno XLD (Extra Low Dispersion) realizzati in materiali speciali che prevengono le aberrazioni cromatiche. Come risultato l'SP AF70-300mm F4-5,6 Di VC USD (Modello A005) riporta massimo contrasto e migliori performance rispetto a tutti gli altri obiettivi della sua classe.
Inoltre, questo è il primo obiettivo Tamron dotato di tecnologia USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive), un meccanismo autofocus drive ultrasonico proprietario di Tamron. Il meccanismo USD genera un veloce messa a fuoco che lo rende un prefetto zoom tele per la fotografia sportiva, per le competizioni o per altri soggetti in rapido movimento. Questo obiettivo è dotato anche della tecnologia proprietaria Tamron VC (Vibration Compensation) di stabilizzazione dell'immagine a supporto della fotografia a mano libera non solo alle lunghe focali, in cui è facile che si verifichi il mosso, ma anche in condizioni di scarsa illuminazione per una totale libertà espressiva.

Tamron presenta il nuovo megazoom da viaggio con escursione focale di 18-270mm. Così Tamron mantiene il record mondiale di zoomata per gli obiettivi da ref lex digitali1.
       
Questo obiettivo dispone però del nuovo sistema Piezo Drive con motore ad ultrasuoni, che assicura una messa a fuoco silenziosa, precisa e straordinariamente rapida. In più, l'esclusiva tecnologia antivibrazioni (VC) è stata affinata per consentire un design più compatto.
L'obiettivo convince per le sue ampie possibilità di utilizzo, con un campo di focali che di fatto copre situazioni fotografiche di ogni tipo. La sua costruzione compatta e leggera ne fa un compagno di viaggio ideale. Questo obiettivo non solo copre qualsiasi necessità dal grandangolo per i paesaggi al teleobiettivo per avvicinare i soggetti distanti, ma dispone anche di una certa capacità macro con ingrandimento massimo di 1:3,8, per ingrandire le piccole cose che possono rendere più interessante la vita.
Le versioni con attacchi Nikon e Canon del 18-270mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD saranno disponibili dalla fine di dicembre. Quella con montatura Sony sarà resa disponibile in seguito, in data da annunciare.2
